About Zanconato

I appreciate your interest in Zanconato. I have been building tailored, steel bicycle frames since 1998. Every bike I build is unique, and no tubes are cut until I have a complete understanding of each customer's needs.

I work very hard to provide the highest level of customer service and give each customer the attention he or she deserves. I love to teach, and enjoy spreading the knowledge about frame design and fabrication. I encourage you to ask lots of questions.

The overall look of the bicycle is very important to me. A bicycle that looks "correct" probably is. And nothing looks better than a clutter-free bike with the BB, saddle and handlebars in the "right" place relative to each other.

My material of choice is steel. I build bicycles frames from the material I think rides the best. I have ridden bicycles with frames constructed from nearly every other frame material (sans beryllium and bamboo), and I always enjoy coming back to my steel bikes. I simply won't waver on this, and hopefully, your tastes match mine.

As you will see in the fabrication pages, I build frames using a couple of different joining methods. Most designs allow the use of low-temperature silver brazing and lugs. Other designs do not allow the use of lugs because of angle or tube diameter restrictions.  In these cases, bronze fillet brazing will be the fabrication method of choice. The bicycle will always have a very classy look, and not be overly ornate.

Please take a look around. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
